God Given

Last week, James and I went to see NIN in Duluth, GA. I've been reluctant to go in the past, using the excuse that I'd fit in like a sore thumb, thinking, of course, that everyone there would be gothed out. After falling in love with With Teeth, Year Zero, and the Slip, (not to mention how utterly HOT Trent Reznor has become) I agreed to go.

As we drove into the parking lot, we see a teenager standing on the median, holding a bible, preaching. I'm a pretty liberal Christian, but even I have to roll my eyes at that display. Walking up to the convention center, someone hands James a pamphlet that says SIN. Yet again, I roll my eyes. Like I'm going to "see the light" and give up my expensive tickets. Yeah right. I half expected them to be outside afterwards throwing holy water on people and yelling "The power of Christ compels you!". *snicker*

So, this morning, I find out that one of my favorite Christian bands, Flyleaf, has come out with a live album and guess what song they cover? "Something I can Never Have" by NIN. Haha - take that!

Feeling of Accomplishment

Woot - I actually got off my lazy ass today and got a few things done around the house!

I:

  • Scrubbed the bathtub thoroughly and rinsed it off
  • Got all of our dirty clothes in the wash
  • Washed almost all of the dirty dishes that were ontop of the toaster over - the last 2 are soaking
The only things left that I wanted to do today are sort the clean clothes and finish cleaning out our bags from our trip this past weekend.

Last week, after going to see NIN in Duluth, GA, we drove down to visit my little sister and her hubby. They just bought a new house and it was gorgeous. I think something changed, because ever since we've been back, I've felt to need to start cleaning. It's refreshing.

I'm a bit of a slob, to say the least. Maybe I should post pictures on the internet to mortify myself. Yesterday, I joined FLYlady, but I still need to read the articles and emails they've sent me. Little by little, right?

Again with the blogging

It's been 2 or 3 years since I became bored with my last blog. I never had time to write and not much so say, but now, it seems, I have the opposite problem. These days, I have more time on my hands than I'd like and so much to say that I don't even know where to begin.

I'm 31, currently unemployed (Thanks alot, stupid economy) and feeling extremely isolated, even though I live right next door to my parents, my husband is my absolute best friend, and I have the entire internet at my fingertips.

Maybe if I can get some of these errant thoughts out of my head, I'll be able to fall asleep at night.
